Old section[edit]

I'm not completely sure, but I think the differences you speak of could well be related to console differences. (e.g. PS2 or PC) The PC game did have a few plot changes, especially in later versions, such as the the alteration of a specific level to change the implied killing of sihks in a temple.

Somebody help me please!!![edit]

In Hitman: Codename 47 directory I've found a file named "resources.xml" (C:\Hitman - Codename 47\Setup\Locale\language-English.zip). There are all the game dialogues, mission briefings and all the game's text. In that file, I've found some really weird sentences, that aren't involved in the game, or I couldn't find them anywhere in the game... They are:

  • (Possibly in "The Setup" mission) "Freeze - let me see some ID! Real slow now!"
  • (Possibly in "The Setup" mission) "Hey - you there. Stand still! Who are you?"
  • (Possibly in "The Setup" mission) "Stop! Police - identify yourself!"
  • (Possibly in "The Setup" mission) "Tango 6 - 3 Delta - 1 Yankee. Proceed with caution. Suspect is armed and dangerous!" (maybe a talk between SWAT members)
  • (Possibly in "Meet Your Brother" mission) "You - along with your brothers - are my true children. Now rid me of that rambunctious renegade!" (maybe a talk between Ort. Meyer and Mr. 48 clones)

There are many other sentences too, but I'm most worried about these mission descriptions in laptop:

  • (Possibly at the end of the game) "Your mission is over. Surrender your self to the police and await further instructions. We will contact you. Diana"
  • (Possibly at the end of the game) "ABORT - ABORT - ABORT RETURN TO BASE IMPENDING DANGER THE AGENCY WILL DISAVOW YOU RETURN IMMEDIATELY"
  • (Possibly at the end of the game) "ABORT - ABORT - ABORT SEVERE DANGER DO NOT ATTEMPT FURTHER ADVANCES THIS IS AN ORDER"

Everybody knows that when 47 kills Ort. Meyer, the game is over, and there's no after mission description in laptop. What are those sentences?

Write everything in the world you know about this sentences, please! I'm in turmoil for this problem since 2002! I WILL AWARD THE USER THAT HELPS ME SOLVING THIS PROBLEM! --Aeternus 17:27, 27 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

- I'd say it's just dialog that was in earlier versions on the game, during development, and not used in the final released version. A lot of games have this sort of thing, i.e. content that is present on the CD but can't be accessed ingame. (signed, anonymous lurker)

What Are the other 12 weapons that are awarded?[edit]

What are the other 12 weapons that are rewarded for getting the silent assassin rank? They should definately be listed.

I don't think they should; that's not relevant enough to be posted in here. Remember, Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a game guide. 24.155.168.54 06:18, 21 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Naa, they should be added, they were added onto the page 'Hitman series', I know half of them, we could look up the rest? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kjlang (talkcontribs) 06:49, 29 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think that is not a bad idea to add them. If you just list the weapons, but you don't say how to obtain them (like in which level) you are not guiding the player anywere. Player have still to look forward to solve a mission with "Silent Assassin" rank but his time will be saved (he doesn't have to search everywhere on the web or try every mission), plus someone that is thinking to buy the game knows if the last cutting edge deadly rifle is available for his murders or not (and eventually complain) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 151.50.23.143 (talk) 02:39, 8 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Many other sites have that info, not needed here.

Cleanup?[edit]

I feel that this article is decent enough. I don't feel cleanup is particularly necessary, but if you guys have good reasons for cleanup, I'll listen. BishopTutu 06:28, 8 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Help[edit]

Does anyone know where the influence to make the Beldingford manor came from? Was it derived from an actual manor? I'd like to know as much as I can about it. Thanks.

If you're here for personal gain, then you're S.O.L. This isn't a forum. ♣ Klptyzm Chat wit' me § Contributions ♣ 18:01, 30 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's not an acronym database either, it's an encyclopedia, be nice and keep on topic; improving articles. Kurushi (talk) 14:12, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps you should acquaint yourself with WP:FORUM before you do the exact same thing you accused me of doing. The fact of the matter remains that this talk page isn't a forum and should be focused on improving the article. The poster did not specify whether or not he wanted to know for his own gain or not. It's not a acronym database and especially not a forum. ♣ Klptyzm Chat wit' me § Contributions ♣ 18:31, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have made no accusations. I have simply asked you to be nice. Perhaps you are not aware of all the interpretations of your acronym. As for the rest of your comment, you simply repeated what I wrote. I'm glad you understand the purpose of a talk page. Kurushi (talk) 12:12, 14 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps you just misunderstood my comment. I was simply stating that (as plainly stated in this statement) that Wikipedia isn't a forum and shouldn't be treated as an area to ask questions for mere personal gain. ♣ Klptyzm Chat wit' me § Contributions ♣ 17:44, 14 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Lack of Steam release?[edit]

Anyone know why all three other Hitman games got released on Valve's Steam, but Contracts is not? Was there some legal trouble or something? 72.224.126.139 19:23, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

First paragraph in Plot[edit]

I haven't played much of Blood Money, so i can't be sure, but are we ABSOLUTELY SURE that that was the level in which 47 gets shot. I remember that mission, but was over a friends house, so i didnt finish it. The way it's written seems very OR to me, though. DurinsBane87 03:38, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

They never note in Blood money when 47 is shot, except before one mission when Diana says "Hows that wound Healing?". —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kjlang (talkcontribs) 06:51, 29 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Incomprehensible to outsiders[edit]

I've never played a Hitman game, so I came to this article as a complete outsider, and I hate to say this but it is completely incomprehensible. I can't even figure out what form the gameplay takes. The article makes the game sound like it consists entirely of clips from cutscenes from previous games in the series, which seems rather unlikely. What does "The missions were primarily focused on the replays of the first series of the game" mean? I don't even know what "first series of the game" might mean (is it supposed to say "first game in the series"?)

Please, someone rewrite this article in a way that makes sense to people who haven't played the game. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.86.133.45 (talk) 17:06, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Slapped into some semblance of English. Geoff B (talk) 17:16, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I've started a "gameplay" section. I'll try to fix the rest of the article up as I go along. ♣ Bishop Tutu Chat wit' me § Contributions ♣ 17:47, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Just for the record, the missions you play are flashbacks. New content, but not to the character, who is delirous from a bullet wound. Lots42 (talk) 01:55, 28 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

About SWAT uniform[edit]

Hi guys, I know that the SWAT uniform was available from the first episode (Codename 47). It was in the last mission, where you have to kill 47's clones and 47's father (the doctor who "created" him). While the radio was not available for sure, the bulletproof vest was included that time. So I think that the sentence "...which remained absent from previous titles..." in section Gamplay shold be removed (I never edited wikipedia, and I was not sure if just deleting without ask is a violation of the policy). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 151.50.23.143 (talk) 02:33, 8 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted SWAT as its not new. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 114.198.13.131 (talk) 02:49, 18 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Gaining Weapons For Next-Level Use[edit]

Information on other websites seem to indicate you need a 'Silent Assassin' rating in order to gain a weapon to use on the next level. This contradict's current info here. Anyone got any clarification? Lots42 (talk) 01:55, 28 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Its been awhile since I played, but if I recall correctly, you earn EXTRA guns by getting Silent Assassin Ratings, on top of whatever you carry out with you. For example, you walk out of the level with a Desert Eagle, you'll keep it, but if you also get a Silent Assassin rating, you'll be rewarded with Silenced Silverballers, etc. DurinsBane87 (talk) 08:22, 29 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

correction[edit]

I. according to the current article "The game features recreations of four levels from Hitman: Codename 47" Actually, the game contains 5 completely new levels/missions (1. The Meat King's Party, 2. The Bjarkhov Bomb, 3. Beldingford Manor, 4. Rendezvous in Rotterdam, 5. Hunter and Hunted) but it also features seven (and not four as it is falsely stated) levels which are remake versions of most of the levels from the original game, Hitman: Codename 47 (1. Asylum Aftermath, 2. Deadly Cargo, 3. Traditions of the Trade, 4. Slaying a Dragon, 5. The Wang Fou Incident, 6. Seafood Massacre, 7. Lee Hong Assassination) http://hitman.neoseeker.com/wiki/List_of_missions_in_Hitman:_Contracts

II. "This includes "accidents" involving the environment, e.g. falling from a balcony..." As far as I know, accidents, such as falling from a balcony, can only be found in Hitman: Blood Money.

Ectoconus91 (talk) 11:22, 2 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

III. The song in level 4, Belingford Manor, is not called "Brand New Image" by Cecilia Cheung. I don't know who put that in there, but you are way off. The actual song is called "A Different Kind of Love" by Dick Walter. Please correct this in the article.
