Name Origin[edit]

Not only is the story of the origin of the name of the song correctly marked as "Citation Needed", but it also conflicts with the story that used to be on the main AC/DC page about it being named for a stretch of highway which had many traffic accidents. Perhaps it was removed because it was unfounded.Jkolak (talk) 10:07, 31 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Links[edit]

Are three links to the lyrics really needed? Landeyda 04:46, 13 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I removed the lyrics links and I also added guitar, bass and drum tabs. No-Bullet 19:09, 30 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I removed the drum tab link because the web site no longer provides tabs. Spartacusprime 19:34, 26 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I don't see the point of adding tablatures. I'd much rather prefer seeing a link to a AC/DC-endorsed website that sells an official songbook. Otherwise it would be like adding a link to a torrent file for every movie and game article.
Interesting that there is no mention of H2H's relationship with Stairway to Heaven. Is it just too obvious? -- Terry J. Gardner 01:10, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Though that's true, we can't add it without citing our sources. As an interesting sidenote, I was playing Okami today and one of the characters refers to that relationship: After Waka says he's looking for a Pathway to Heaven, Issun replies "Pathway to Heaven? More like a Highway to You-Know-Where!"

Regarding Key/Tuning[edit]

Regarding "The song is in the key of A Major": the tuning of the original track is actually somewhere between A and A flat, at least in terms of modern standards. Specifically, https://studentofguitar.com/highway-to-hell-tuning/ cites a frequency of 427 or 428 Hz, while A440_(pitch_standard) cites 440 Hz as a standard A above middle C. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jgvictores (talkcontribs) 18:12, 6 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Correction[edit]

It's not Highway to Hell the opening song of film named Maximum Overdrive. The Film's opening song is Who Made Who.Its also film's soundtrack.--Trockya 09:53, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've removed the reference to Maximum Overdrive. It seems like somebody doesn't really know what he's talking about here. To clarify I'll copy a list of the soundtrack here, taken from imdb.com: (All of the songs written and performed by AC/DC)

  1. "Who Made Who"
  2. "D.T."
  3. "Chase The Ace"
  4. "Hells Bells"
  5. "For Those About To Rock (We Salute You)"
  6. "You Shook Me All Night Long"
  7. "Ride On"
  8. "Shake Your Foundations"
  9. "Sink The Pink"

The track has become one of the most famous songs in rock history.[edit]

Any source for this? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.64.93.52 (talk) 00:58, 14 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You gotta be kidding. Which century did you grow up in? Do you wikipedians really need a source for EVERYTHING? "The human hand has five fingers.[citation needed]" —Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.98.212.149 (talk) 13:37, 15 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
