Total rewrite[edit]

This rewrite of the article should establish Gentex's notability, being a manufacturer of auto-dimming mirrors, as well as in developing photoelectric smoke detectors. In addition, the POV and the poor writing have been swept off the page. SchuminWeb (Talk) 14:50, 22 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

– Both Gentex and Gentex Corporation are manufacturing companies known as "Gentex Corporation", which means the current article titles are ambiguous. I am also open to other suggestions for disambiguators. feminist (talk) 07:33, 20 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move 21 May 2024[edit]

Gentex (automotive manufacturer)Gentex (automotive supplier) – Despite the title being "automotive" and not "automobile," the current title implies, at least at first glance, that Gentex is an automaker and not a maker of components. I believe "supplier" is clearer and aligns with typical usage in the industry. Sable232 (talk) 01:15, 21 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
