Units on wikipedia, years, light years etc...[edit]

Why do we insist on those 8,2 K technical terms, we are making Wikipedia and science less understandable to children and laymen and kill me if I know why 8,2 k is better than 8,200 years ago. This is a trend across Wikipedia (pushing parsec against light year) and we should make a general stand about it to stay simple unless it derogates the content. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 37.244.178.75 (talk) 12:08, 31 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
