How is this different than anomalie detection?[edit]

I don't see how this is different from anomaly detection in principle. Any other discipline considers "diagnosis" to be "the identification of the nature and cause of a certain phenomenon" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diagnosis), and so does Gartner: http://www.ithappens.nu/levels-of-data-analytics/ I have never in my academic or professional life seen diagnosis to be used as a synonym of anomaly detection and suggest this page be merged into another article.

Disambiguation[edit]

Per comments on Talk:Diagnosis (medical), moved former article to Diagnosis (medical) and made this article a disambiguation page. --Una Smith (talk) 02:17, 20 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation page no longer; the topic of diagnosis needs general explanation. --Una Smith (talk) 23:56, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Almost 8 years later, this entry is still nothing more than a disambiguation page, so I have configured it as one. J.P. Martin-Flatin (talk) 07:34, 12 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
