This doesn't make a huge amount of sense and is very incomplete. Perhaps it should be a redirect to something else. CalJW 10:29, 1 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I wanted to add in a link to the Football League Championship, as it is known as The Championship in English football, and a lot of searchers for "The Championship" might be looking for that. However, I found that in order to do that I needed to tidy up the article as a whole. This I have now done, although I am not really sure how much further I can take it. I have removed the cleanup and stub tags, however, somebody might want to put them back if they think there's more to be said.--Robotforaday 19:33, 26 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Do we need to add the mythical NCAA Division I Football championship - determined now in part by polls and in the past totally by polls?Wschart (talk) 12:47, 7 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Convert to DAB[edit]

I suggest we convert this page to 1. a disambiguation page, and 2. outtakes on the talk page that may be used to say create a list article. I have tagged as DAB cleanup. Any objections? Widefox; talk 11:44, 30 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Have you considered WP:FIXDABLINKS? Specifically,
A code of honor for creating disambiguation pages is to fix all resulting mis-directed links.
Before moving an article to a qualified name (in order to create a disambiguation page at the base name, to move an existing disambiguation page to that name, or to redirect that name to a disambiguation page), click on What links here to find all of the incoming links. Repair all of those incoming links to use the new article name.
There are over 300 other Wikipedia articles that contain links to "Championship" and need to be fixed. --R'n'B (call me Russ) 10:25, 31 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Good point, but in fact I was thinking there's no article to save (a dictionary article and a DAB), so none to move - was just going to replace with a DAB, but maybe you're right and there is, so...

::Reviewing the top half of the article again - maybe there is an article in there instead of just a dictionary article? In which case, I propose:

  • first split off the DAB article
  • keep this page as-is - the primary meaning article
    • but marked as needing cleanup/unreferenced/dictionary etc. That way the article can be decided at a later date.
As for incoming links, I will have a look and see if they can/should be easily fixed already, with above not applying as it'll be a new DAB, agreed? I'll remove the DAB-cleanup to clarify in the mean time. Widefox; talk 10:56, 2 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
After checking links, I propose this:
As to whether we reverse the recent bold redirect of Championship to Champion (my preference), or leave as is, I would prefer to gain consensus here first before more action. In the mean time, I've added { {Dabconcept} } to indicate the proposal. Widefox; talk 11:11, 9 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
