Package price for aircraft[edit]

FYI, most aircraft deal comes with the associated simulator, training, maintenance and spare parts. So, when you have a US$20m price tagged aircraft and a deal of US$300m was signed for acquiring 12 aircraft (12×$20m= US$240m), the excess of $60m is for the associated simulator, training, maintenance and spare parts. - You misunderstand me. The article said, "The Philippines intends to acquire 12 units at PhP 1.25 billion (USD 294 million) each.". That means EACH plane cost USD 294 million. I believe this is a grammatical error. Please fix it. Henryjones000 (talk) 06:13, 19 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  - On the contrary, I do understand you but you fail to understand that these reports are just rough estimates without input and/or verification from DND. On the other hand, ABS-CBN has lost its credibility as a reliable source after the last episode of quoting DND out of context. My advice for you is to drop the request, since there's a few other experienced editors from Phil monitoring the situation and they will update accordingly with reliable sources. PN ASW Helicopters[edit]

There was no indication of quantity other than the word "an". You based your assumption on a single news report, while there are already several reports before calling for the acquisition of "at least" 2 units with a specific budget. The so-called "Medium Term Capability Development Program" is only a sub-program of the Philippine Navy & AFP Modernization Program. You are only assuming that the 2nd ASW helicopter may only be purchased after 2017. You blindly acknowledged that you only follow the news "word-per-word" without acknowledging that this MTCDP and previous plan to buy 2 ASW helicopters are the same. I cannot comment more re. actual numbers as we are only talking about what was released so far for public consumption. But based on logic alone, would just buy 1 ASW helicopter for 2 new frigates?
