. . .From the life of The Tasmanian Devil ..a devilkin

A mature clan of this animal family usually brings birth to an Australian small, goggle-eyed, hairy and very cute opossum, since the ages it has taken the name “distinct Tasmanian devilkin”.. This real Tasmanian Devil, (in Latin :Sacrophilus harrisii), is not all different then the Warner Bros. cartoon character. A carnivorous beast found exclusively on the island of Tasmania is the size of a small dog but stockier and more muscular … This little “beast” evoked its big respect among the first Australian colonizers too many years ago. “The Tasmanian devil” is the biggest living predacious opossum, the largest “carnivorous marsupial” in the world. His mystical name he has got obtained on the basis of its sweeping and hoarse voice during scoffing, familiarly the tuck-ins. (the noisy communal eating which often can be heard several kilometers away, throughout Tasmanian bush.) Most visitors to the Tasmanian bush stand a very good chance of hearing him. His prey (carcasses) usually used to be torn out into pieces and that also by 10 little “beasts” of an animal clan “The Devil” at once. Tasmanian Devils will eliminate all traces of a carcass as they devour all bones and fur in addition to the meat and innards of a carcass. Until the end of 1 hour the devils are able to “scoff ” 1/3 of their own weight. ..(they ´re really fatter, greater than the dogs…!) All these facts have earned a gratitude from the side of Tasmanian farmers, as the speed, at which they clean the carcass, helps prevent the spreading of insects that might otherwise harm “farmer's livestock”. The life of those predators has never been easy. They have got protected by law only since 1941. Until this year these animals have been considered as a “noxious animal” and were very often killed, also because of there soon reproduction. Approximately 15 years ago it came to a serious exchange in the life and the fate of this animal, when a serious malicious “sarcoma facial cancer” (a cancer being found around his muzzle...) hit “the Devils' ” population. Little is known about the virus, notwithstanding the fact it is assumed to be a retrovirus. Unfortunately, Tasmanian Devils suffering from a facial sarcoma virus spread by a retrovirus usually end their lives lethally. (the death =exitus) On the other hand there is a hope for this population, as it has been observed, that the young “Tasmanian Sacrophiluses” are not susceptible to an illness. But the factum remains, that the population of the mature animals since an outbreak of this type of cancer (1995) has got unsure… About the properties  : A speed during his prey´s chase is app.13 Km/h. He has got the strongest jaws grip among all animals in the world. (2nd place: bears, 3rd place : sharks) Other “features” include an offensive smell when intimidating (and during getaways), loud and disturbing screeching, and of course the vicious temperament. The town Hobart is a seat of life-saving station for saving the lives of those types of “The Tasmanian Devils” in the whole Tasmania /Australia/.
