Pesh-kabz origin[edit]

I would like to find more information on when the pesh-kabz was created, all I can find are vague references to the 17th century as to when this knife first appeared.Dellant (talk) 06:10, 11 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Usage[edit]

A claim on the primary historical usage should come with some form of reference to historical data. Manuals, a modern user of a living tradition, or even medical records of wounds by trained users. Given its usage in the Anglo-Afghan war, medical data on how it was used should be available from the British. I agree but its not Indian either, its an Afghan blade. The sword doesn't originate from Persia because Persians were using curved swords like the Shamsher since they under Saffavid rule who were Turks. Besides, its mention by the British and it being used by Afghans, i cannot find information about it being used by Persians. Some of the links here are broken and the article needs to be re-written properly. Especially about its origin expressing a neutral view point instead of a biased one. Bad redirect[edit]

There is an erroneous redirect to this article from "Khyber knife". The pesh-kabz is a dagger, the khyber knife is a much larger weapon, more like a short-sword. Urselius (talk) 12:00, 11 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
