Is there a reason this article gets a notability tag while less established, smaller societies don't - for example the Oxford University Amateur Boxing Club, or Oxford University Film Foundation, or even Oxford University Dancesport Club? The quality of speaker attracted by The Invariants is at least as high as those attracted by the other societies, like the Newman Society - Hardy was the first speaker! No reason other than that no one has got round to tagging them yet - I will take a look at them now. Notability is not a factor of who, when, how or why, but is demonstrated by the coverage that the subject has received in reliable sources. None of the sources cited in the article at the moment, apart from The Early History... are reliable sources. One isn't enough, significant coverage in several reliable sources are required per WP:ORG. – ukexpat (talk) 20:21, 30 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
