The definition given to this topic looks more like a description of information science or informatics. I would like to suggest a definition that is more true to the essence of this new and emerging field. To me Organizational Semiotics (OS) is a field that examines the nature, characteristics, and features of sign processes, signification, and communication within the contextual framework of organized activities and business domains. From this perspective, OS looks at how meaning is constructed and understood by the individual as well as the collective members of an organization.

This sounds like a really fascinating field of study. However, before I embark on doing any significant research work I would really like to make sure I am on the right track.

Thoughts?
