Definition[edit]

I'm troubled by the fact that this article seems to suggest that the origin of these words is from computing--when in fact, according to the Oxford English Dictionary, they predate the information age. The oldest use seems to be in the railroad industry, followed by airlines, and the older pre-internet uses in computing follow from those usages. There's also use of the word in the social sciences that predates the internet. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.254.108.46 (talk) 05:24, 8 May 2013 (UTC) DONT USE WIKIPEDIA Online and offline — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:6C40:7400:7F02:8949:1BBB:9336:2542 (talk) 22:25, 8 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

"(Redirected from Offline browsing)" which was followed from web browser; yet not a single link to an off-line web broswer is on the page! 74.92.215.38 21:50, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
