"Secret Police"[edit]

The front page mentions that the DOI has been referred to by "some observers" as NY's secret police. Which observers? Could whoever put that there please specify?

If this gets no response I'll probably edit that phrase out as it seems awfully biased to open the article like this. OccultSlolem (talk) 01:00, 2 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • I've gone ahead and edited that statement out per WP:NPOV. If the department is known to somehow be oppressive or "secret police" like, that could be useful to include, but any such statement needs to be sourced and shouldn't be phrased so early on in the article as to present a clear bias.
