Unclear use of "i.e."[edit]

The introduction has a section starting "Several common rules that have appeared in practice and academia to quantify materiality include:", which includes rules of this form: "Percentage of total assets; (i.e.,1/3% of total assets)".

"i.e." means "that is", so that this description would mean "Percentage of total assets; (that is,1/3% of total assets);" Is that really what's intended here? Or did the original author mean "e.g." (for example)?

Another bullet point reads "Percentage of total revenue; (1/2% of total revenues)". What is the "1/2% of total revenue"? This phrase has no "i.e." Is that what the proposed rule actually suggests?

Someone who's familiar with these rules should clarify this issue. Omc (talk) 15:51, 9 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
