Question[edit]

Why did you delete all of the additions I made to the Horror Film list of the 1950's? I was just trying to contribute to the page and make the list more complete. I don't know how to include reference sources, I just want to list imdb.com as my source on each addition, but I don't know how to add it. If a source is necessary on every entry on the page, can't you just put an imdb.com next to each of my additions? But if you don't want anyone else contributing to the page, then I guess you can prevent me from contributing. I don't know why you discourage people from contributing though. Best, frank (a 1950's horror film collector)

Hi Frank! I'm glad you have an interest in classic horror as much as I do. :) On wikipedia, we need to site sources. I would suggest doing a brief read of WP:RS so we can get sources. As for IMDb, a discussion going on at WP:FILM has concluded that we should not use it as a source because the information is just added by users. You can find some of the sources at this link if you want more information. Glad to see you contributing to wikipedia either way. I look forward to see further additions. Untitled[edit]

god, mentsh und teyvl (by Joseph Seiden) is by god NOT a horror film; its a yiddish film classic; it's an adaption of goethe's Faust; it's like a drama or a melodrama; but it has nothing to do with horror. -- Otto Normalverbraucher (talk) 23:10, 6 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

House on Haunted Hill's directors references[edit]

On July 30, 2007 was added to this list the movie House on Haunted Hill with the following directing credits: William Castle and Rosemary Horvath. Despite seeing the information that Rosemary Horvath co-directed this film in other sites, I found no reliable source for this information. I searched for data on Rosemary Horvath, the director, and found absolutely nothing. I found no record that this woman even existed. But recently I found this resume that shows Rosemary Horvath as a graphic designer who was the "Creative Director Color Design" of the colored version of House On Haunted Hill on a 2005 DVD. I suspect there has been some confusion in the release of the colored movie DVD, and somehow her name was put on as director next to William Castle in some virtual store. I tried to contact Rosemary Horvath at the email address on the resume, but it is no longer a valid email address.

Anyway. I'd like to know the (safe) source was used so that Rosemary Horvath was credited on that wiki page on that day. I condn't check the citation "Derrey, Charles (2009). Dark dreams 2.0: a psychological history of the modern horror film" since I don't have this book and couldn't find it online. In any case, the editing of the page is from 2007, and the book is from 2009, so... Thaasp (talk) 03:15, 9 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Looking at the book source: here. The book source does not mention enough stuff for the article. Trying to find information about this extra director is not digging up anything either so I believe its safe to say we can just credit the film to Castle until any more information is dug up.
