Inconsistencies within the page[edit]

@6ii9, Bob Castle, Gareth Griffith-Jones, Niki2006, and Stevie O 1974: Hi, I've selected you on the basis that you have all added content rather than just gnoming and reverting. I'm hoping that one of you knows enough about these episodes to fix up the inconsistencies here. The table at Series overview contains a "TBA" cell, which surely can't be right, and the table as a whole doesn't seem to tally with the subsections for the individual series. If you open up that table for editing, it has blocks like:

| color8       = #99CCFF
| link8        = <includeonly>List of Hi-de-Hi! episodes</includeonly>#Series Eight (1987–1988)
| episodes9    = 6
| start8       = {{Start date|1987|12|26|df=y}}
| end8         = {{End date|1988|1|30|df=y}}

notice the numbering of the parameters: 8-8-9-8-8. Also the links don't agree with the names of the subsections. I've tried working out which edits have introduced problems, but there have been a great many edits by anons, some probably beneficial. For example, were these edits correct or not? --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 19:40, 29 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It looks to me like the edit you mention above is where the issue seems to have appeared - I'm assuming they're run series 3 and 4 together as in terms of broadcasts, they followed one another to make what must have seemed a long series. In terms of production, though, I imagine they are classed as separate. I'd be tempted to revert that edit and see if that fixes the other issues. Bob talk 21:18, 30 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed, the DVD releases identify these as two separate series production-wise and this is how the show's episodes are set out in the IMDb guide. Series 3 ends with the episode 'Stripes' (first broadcast 5 December 1982) and Series 4 begins with the episode 'Co-respondent's course' first broadcast 12 December 1982.
