Three-putt?[edit]

Lots of articles mention three-putts but none explain them. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Robotwisdom (talkcontribs) 22:42, 17 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed Merge[edit]

It appears that the page Dynamics of the golf swing is covering essentially the same topic as this page, and has not been as well developed. It would appear to make sense to merge the two articles.EastTN (talk) 20:32, 14 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I merged the two, but I think a lot of it will have to be removed, per WP:NOTHOWTO; the content from the merged article currently reads a bit too much like a how to book. AdventurousSquirrel (talk) 00:37, 18 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Push/Pull[edit]

I read on here that push means "to the right of the target" and pull means "to the left of the target". I might be wrong, but I had always thought push means more "away from the body" such that a right handed player ends up to the right and left handed ends up to the left, and pull is "towards the body", so the opposite of push as I described up there. To me this makes more sense as a ball being "pushed" is being lead away but a pull is being "pulled towards" you (even if it goes past your body).

Am I wrong? I just wanted this article to be clearer if that is the case. 96.245.167.3 (talk) 04:32, 1 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Golf stroke mechanicsGolf swing – Per WP:COMMONNAME. "Golf swing" is the most used term in this article and almost all external sources. Seems clear that it is the most recognisable term for this topic and that should be the title. wjematherplease leave a message... 11:01, 20 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support Seems the best term to use. Certainly "Golf stroke mechanics" is a pretty obscure term. Nigej (talk) 12:03, 20 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Ball strike[edit]

After addressing the ball, can a ball be advanced forward by kicking the shaft of the club? 75.167.205.192 (talk) 20:35, 18 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
