can someone explain this sentence

In order to keep the rating, the film's end-credits were edited to prevent the movie from receiving an R rating.

There were frogs in the credits.

MPAA Rating[edit]

There most certainly was an R rating in 1972 when this movie was released. The R rating first appeared in 1968.
