Datura in China[edit]

At 17. DATURA Linnaeus, Sp. Pl. 1: 179. 1753 they note that there are three species of datura found in China; Datura inoxia Miller (毛曼陀罗 mao man tuo luo), Datura metel Linnaeus (洋金花 yang jin hua) and Datura stramonium Linnaeus (曼陀罗 man tuo luo). Romani[edit]

I removed the claim that datura was "brought to Europe by the Romani people". The cite given was Coby Michael's "The Poison Path Herbal".

According to a webpage for the author, he is a teacher of "plant magic...and traditional witchcraft". From excerpts provided, the book discusses the ability of poisonous plants to "open us up to the spirit world...in order to work magic, prophesy, and commune with spirits." It offers guidance on how to make magical "flying ointments" and how to use poisonous plants as "spirit familiars".
