OK it's a nice picture of Anne Murray but when was that picture taken in 1965? Have anything a bit more recent

[ User:AnneFan1 removed a comment that was here, requesting her article changes not to be undone and asserting that Murray is an author. ]

Please note any Wikipedia contributor can edit an article. As there's no reference to her being a talk show host in the article, I have changed the occupation to just read "Singer". The occupation should be what the person is mainly known for, and a celebrity who has written an autobiography would not generally considered to be an author. Concur with removal of "author", WP is not just another website where celebrities can control their portrayal. She's known as a singer and happened to write a book about herself, that makes her...a singer who wrote about herself, not an author as a primary occupation. It's pretty hard for someone with close ties to a subject or who has a formal PR connection to write good wikipedia content sometimes:/ You may have some good information, but beware of WP:COI and WP:OWN. I figured I should add my two cents here as well. Though I'm personally not an Anne Murray fan and don't know all the details, I am very well aware of who she is, and have a great deal of respect. This explains why I don't edit content here... but do keep a watchful eye out for obvious abuse and undesired stylistic changes. My recent reverts pertained strictly to WP:MOSCAPS and WP:DAB issues, rather than the actual content itself. Had changes been made with working links that displayed in their proper text-case, I simply would have left it alone. Disambiguating the genres made straight-forward sense. The occupation-field however, was something I decided was best reverted back to its long-standing, undisputed version... which to my interpretation, actually means "consensus" (or at least a form of consensus) by Wikipedia's definition. Regardless, I currently see a functional link in its proper text-case, and therefore have no further complaints. This talk-page is in quite an unruly mess though ;) -- WikHead (talk) 23:21, 8 January 2010 (UTC)

For many, her fame as the representative Canadian singer is rivaled only by Gordon Lightfoot. Unlike many internationally-renowned Canadian singers like Joni Mitchell, she has always resided in Canada and now lives in Toronto, but spends most summers in Nova Scotia.

This is clearly NOT written from a neutral point-of-view. -Grammaticus Repairo (talk) 03:59, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

Close paraphrase/copyvio

It would appear that major blocks of text from th biography sections of http://www.annemurray.com/ were cut and pasted into this article, then edited very slightly in an attempt to disguise their source. WuhWuzDat 14:11, 17 January 2010 (UTC)

Your reversion didn't fully address the copyright problems, and AnneFan has restored everything anyway. There's still much of this article lifted from the Anne Murray web site, some verbatim even. Gigs (talk) 20:18, 17 January 2010 (UTC)

POV check

I am nominating this article for a POV check, due to the high percentage of recent edits perfomed by Single Purpose accounts and IP addresses. Looks like a potential Sock Drawer to me, many allegedly different editors, but most share the same rapid fire machine gun editing style of many small edits, instead of a few large edits. Glad to see you back. Yes, that pattern did say sock to me as well. We need to keep a close eye on this one because they seem very intent on plagiarizing from Murray's site. Gigs (talk) 03:04, 27 January 2010 (UTC)
