From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Phosphorothioates are organophosphate derivatives with one of the oxygen atoms of the oxoacid being replaced by a sulfur atom. Organyl group R1 is either O-bonded or S-bonded, which means phosphorothioates have two different general formulas: R1OP(S)(OR2)(OR3) and R1SP(O)(OR2)(OR3) respectively.
