Shelving engineering

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Shelving engineering is the science of static loadings occurring in retail stores and in stocks. It includes the study, design, the manufacturing and supply of a shelving system. It is often referred to as "gondola shelving engineering" in retail and mall environments.

Design[edit]

Usually built of metal, retailers' shelving usually complies with loading capacity and user safety requirements.[citation needed] Finite elements analysis was intended to help a company's calculations regarding the stress and strength of shelving.
