Space Pilot 3000[edit]

current The pilot episode of the series this is currently a good article with 12 references, 4 of which are to the DVD commentary.

  • This one definitely stands on its own. TTN (talk) 18:07, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Series Has Landed[edit]

current The episode was nominated for an Annie Award and currently has 3 secondary sources. DVD commentary is available but has not yet been used in the article.

  • This seems to be on its way currently. There's no reason to bother with it. TTN (talk) 18:07, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I, Roommate[edit]

current Contains 3 references, DVD commentary is available but has not yet been used in the article.

  • This one could sort of go either way depending on what else can be added. TTN (talk) 18:07, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Love's Labours Lost in Space[edit]

[1] Two secondary sources, DVD commentary is available but has not been used in the article to it's full extent.

  • It looks decent at this point. With the rest of the commentary and some reformatting, I imagine that it'll be fine. TTN (talk) 18:07, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fear of a Bot Planet[edit]

current No references, DVD commentary is available.

  • Generally, how much commentary is available? Does it vary between episodes or are the pretty much static? If this can only get a few production notes, it would probably be best to either dump it or include it elsewhere if its important enough. TTN (talk) 18:07, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • I'm not sure how much info will be available for any individual episode but usually Matt Groening, David X. Cohen, Richard Moore, the writer and the director are in the commentary so they usually have notes about how they came up with the episode and any oddities they encountered during it. Usually one or two of the voice actors will be in the commentary as well which sometimes gives another perspective on the production. I think for any given episode a production section similar to Space Pilot 3000 or Hell Is Other Robots can be made and usually I can source some of the cultural references section from the commentary as well. Is that enough for an article by itself, hard to say, probably not in most cases. For an example of an episode that has only DVD commentary references see Kif Gets Knocked Up a Notch. Hope that answers your question. Stardust8212 18:29, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • If they're not enough to hold an article, do you think that they'd be general enough to work in a season article? There could be one general production section, and any really significant cultural references could be shoved into the summaries or something. TTN (talk) 18:41, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • I'm not sure yet how a season page for Futurama might be organized, it doesn't have over-reaching plot lines like Smallville (which had a very successful merge) and much of the production info is somewhat episode specific. It would take some work and it's not the top of my priority list, yet. Stardust8212 19:01, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • I would say, even without references, when you merge the non-notable episodes into it, you can have more space in the episode description to include, like (not this ep) emmy noms or the like; the season episode list would not need to be notable in this aspect, though certainly you can go back and get a nice development section by grouping the details of the commentary (eg, Hell is Other Robots mentions that this was the first episode that the staff seemed to loosen up, so a development section for this season would be able how they were getting their legs for the characters and the like). Also consider that DVD sets are oft reviewed as well (eg [2]). I would love to see how, as a test case per the RFC on episode notability and other areas, how the season article will come out. --MASEM 16:32, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • My concern with season specific pages is that I have a few sources that discuss the seasons as they were released on DVD and a few others that discuss seasons as they were broadcast (4 prod. seasons and 5 broadcast seasons) so I forsee some complexity in handling it in that regard since it has been an issue that pops up on occassion on the various Futurama talk pages. Anyway, it's certainly very do-able I just haven't figured out how yet so I think getting others involved would be beneficial and hopefully it would help other series figure some things out as well. A Fishful of Dollars[edit]

current Two references, DVD commentary is available.

  • Generally, how much commentary is available? Does it vary between episodes or are the pretty much static? If this can only get a few production notes, it would probably be best to either dump it or include it elsewhere if its important enough. TTN (talk) 18:07, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My Three Suns[edit]

current No references, DVD commentary is available.

A Big Piece of Garbage[edit]

current Episode was nominated for an Emmy, two references to that effect, DVD commentary is available.

  • If the Emmys and a few production notes are all that is available, it may not be able to hold an article. If more reception can be found and the commentary is good, it'll probably be all right. TTN (talk) 18:07, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hell Is Other Robots[edit]

current Currently a good article and nominated for featured article status. 23 references.

A Flight to Remember[edit]

current 2 sources, 1 is secondary, DVD commentary is available.

  • This one could sort of go either way depending on what else can be added. TTN (talk) 18:07, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Mars University[edit]

current Four secondary sources, DVD commentary available.

  • This one could sort of go either way depending on what else can be added. TTN (talk) 18:07, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

When Aliens Attack[edit]

current No references, DVD commentary is available.

Fry and the Slurm Factory[edit]

current Five references, three are secondary, one is to commentary and one is a link to snopes. DVD commentary is available

  • This seems to be decent enough at this point, though it needs some kind of reformatting. TTN (talk) 18:07, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
