Woolerball[edit]

I dont understand why this article keeps being deleted is it being vandalised. if so could you help me? —Preceding unsigned comment added by S0456769 (talkcontribs) 20:55, 11 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Out of interest why are you deemed to be able to decide if an article is notable or not.

Furhter you are wrong about it just being made up one day but because you have deleted the article it leaves no chance for its improvement and ultimately proving you to have made an error in your decsion to delete. —Preceding unsigned comment added by S0456769 (talkcontribs) 21:05, 11 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I take your point, however if you keep deleting the article it gives no time for anyone to address the concerns that were raised. If you had kept it up you would have found this out. —Preceding unsigned comment added by S0456769 (talkcontribs) 21:13, 11 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

example of better report[edit]

You filed a SSP on Moral Victor. I also saw it on ANI. May I suggest that you write a short description rather than simply state that they are socks? The next SSP may be an example where it describes why the two people are socks. It says

Jsb394 is a representative of One Economy Corporation. They confirmed that they were 208.118.160.122, which is registered to One Economy Corporation. They created Rey Ramsey and Alec Ross (Social Entrepreneur). Several days after they their COI came to light, they stopped editing. Later the same day the new editor Mosquito0016 started editing the One Economy Corporation related articles. Almost all of the Mosquito0016 edits have been to these articles.

It's not too complicated but is very helpful. Mrs.EasterBunny (talk) 16:15, 7 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Somebody else helped you! It's now a very detailed report, much more detailed than I was expecting! Mrs.EasterBunny (talk) 16:36, 7 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Feloni DRV[edit]

You recently participated in the deletion discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Feloni (2nd nomination). As you may or may not know, the deletion discussion recently went to Deletion Review, (discussion,) and the result of the review was to relist the AfD for a third, and hopefully final time. I invite you to join the discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Feloni (3rd nomination), so that we can finally come to consensus. -- RoninBK T C 16:57, 10 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks[edit]

Thanks, yes, I saw it.. but a normal content dispute, and I think it would be best if the other, rather specialised editor had someone else tactfully urge him towards the talkpage, so I'll hold off replying for a bit. Besides, I have another 30 BLPs I want to clean up today.... Relata refero (talk) 18:34, 12 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Why do you keep beating me to the punch in warning authors of CSD candidate articles??? It's most frustrating; I'm a big boy, I can handle it by myself! - CobaltBlueTony™ talk 19:26, 12 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey[edit]

Nominating an article for speedy deletion 1 minute after the first edit was made on it? That was a bit offsides don't you think? Not to be a dick about it, but happy trigger fingers like that is what often causes new users to post nasty messages and even leave the project. Just some food for thought. I re-created the article - feel free to help out on it if you want. --Yankees76 (talk) 22:59, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Wildthing,

I think we are in the midst of a misunderstanding over my article on Jordan Morelli. I realize the article is not yet backed by sources, but the sources are currently away due to the holiday today. Jordan Morelli has been a long-standing figure in the community and he deserves recognition. I believe the 145 residents of the neighbourhood will agree.

Win the Ultimate Prom[edit]

I don't understand why this article is tagged for speedy deletion. It's not blatant advertising, and I don't work for the company- I am trying to get my fellow students to participate so we can raise 25,000$ without selling candy- a worthy cause. Its a national contest, and you already have competing projects (the ultimate prom night) as wiki articles... it doesn't seem consistent. What makes this different than a wiki article about a television show? They're all advertisements for a commercial product, but if they have public interest as a pop culture reference, they should be included here, no? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Amanda5876 (talkcontribs) 15:08, 6 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Win the Ultimate Prom[edit]

I guess I'm looking for some advise on what constitutes "blatant advertisement" since there are so many articles on wiki that are exactly like mine, infact advertising similar contests (Referenced before). If something becomes part of pop culture, isn't that cause for a wiki article?

As for lifting it from the site, I actually wrote it, but it is based on the stuff on the site, but from the "idea bank", which is there for people to use for such purposes. Infact, there are downloads there explicitly stating that everything is usable. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Amanda5876 (talkcontribs) 15:54, 6 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Non-admin closure[edit]

To close an AfD, you put the following at the top:

{{subst:at}} '''Keep/delete/merge/whatever the result was''', followed by an explanation of your closure. ~~~~

And the following at the bottom:

{{subst:ab}}

I have no idea where I learned that from. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters(Broken clamshellsOtter chirps) 18:09, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry to jump in here, (and I'm not sure why you're in my watchlist Wildthing...hmmm. Did you do something very wrong or very right?) Anyway, TPH has it right. He doesn't know where he got it though, but I do! The "deletion process", including how to close an AfD (there are more steps than TPH gave you, such as how to relist), can be found at the shortcut WP:DELPRO#AFD. Of course, you should only close obvious keeps, as per WP:NAC, but the delpro page also gives you helpful reminders that you need to remove the AfD notification tag from the kept article, as well as go to the talkpage of the kept article and add the oldafdfull" tag. Hope that helps! Keeper | 76 | Disclaimer 18:41, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Velossa Raptors...[edit]

Hi wildthing (i was quite amazed when i read this as wildthing is my last name!)

I was just wondering why the Velossa Raptors page my Girlfriend made was deleted...

I'm sure she will be talking to you about this soon.

Please don't delete the page, it meets all the needs of an article (in wikipedia).

Thankyou...... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kieran100-proper (talkcontribs) 20:33, 24 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Can you please[edit]

Can you please show me a wiki article on a company that has been saved because it has something notable about it? What exactly would "notable" be? Thanks —Preceding unsigned comment added by UrbanRoots (talkcontribs) 20:27, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy Deletion Nonsense tags[edit]

I thought I'd just copy let you know what I was informed of the other day by User:Cobaltbluetony on my talk page. I removed the speedy tag because the definition of patent nonsense is as follows

1. Total nonsense, i.e., text or random characters that have no assignable meaning at all. This includes sequences such as "rtmhtyhjjflbhjoglhjgblvjh\[\\\\98kjt9ykbitiof,kkc", in which keys of the keyboard have been pressed with no regard for what is typed.
2. Content that, while apparently meaningful after a fashion, is so completely and irredeemably confused that no reasonable person can be expected to make any sense of it whatsoever.

The pages you have added the nonsense tag too are no necessarily nonsense in that sense. Other tags may be more appropriate, as some admins refused to delete speedy nominations that have been tagged inappropriately. Thanks --Eastlygod (talk) 14:36, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You're right, I didn't see the edit history. I know what you mean though, sometimes there just isn't the right category for articles. Technically, if someone had created a page claiming to have invented the internet, for example, you have to go through a PROD deletion, as if true, he is notable, though obviously a joke. Ridiculous really... --Eastlygod (talk) 14:42, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism?[edit]

Do you really think that the edit you reverted was vandalism? The link seems legit, it seemed to have been made in good faith. If anything, its an advert site, but it contains lotsa info about Ibiza. Thoughts? - Arcayne (cast a spell) 18:52, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I didn't interpret it as such, but I imagine it's less important to debate, as the info from those sites might be able to cull some citations from. - Arcayne (cast a spell) 19:16, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not Vandalism[edit]

Have you read Wiki's definition of vandalism? Adding facts that is supported by substance is not vandalism, even if you disagree with them. Next time at least read and check on what was added before you claim something is vandalism.
