Non-free rationale for File:Singham character.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Singham character.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Alpha_Quadrant (talk) 22:11, 17 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Dildaara (Ra.One).jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Dildaara (Ra.One).jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Alpha_Quadrant (talk) 22:15, 17 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Using "Google image search" as the source is unacceptable, as is the lack of necessary parameters in {{Non-free use rationale}}. I should've thought that a filemover like you would've been able to put up a better performance than that. →Στc. 22:19, 17 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Your GA nomination of Criminal (Ra.One song)[edit]

The article Criminal (Ra.One song) you nominated as a good article has failed ; see Talk:Criminal (Ra.One song) for reasons why the nomination failed. If or when these points have been taken care of, you may apply for a new nomination of the article. →Στc. 07:50, 18 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

AN notice[edit]

Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard regarding your file uploads on the English Wikipedia. The thread is "File mover status of Dipankan001". Thank you. --HurricaneFan25 — 22:15, 18 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • I'm sorry, but it seems you have an inadequate understanding of the relevant image use policies, and I have therefore revoked your file mover right. I would suggest that you not apply for the user right again until you have demonstrated that you have a better understanding of those policies, starting with correcting the errors/problems with files you have uploaded yourself. WikiAlerter[edit]

Hi, Dipankan001. Here's the process you should follow:

  1. Download WikiAlerter using this link.
  2. What you download should be a zip file, save it somewhere, and then browse to that location using your file explorer.
  3. Right click on the zip file and select the option to extract it.
  4. Download DotNetWikiBot using this link.
  5. Again you should get a zip file, save it somewhere, and then browse to it using file explorer.
  6. Right click the zip file and extract this one too.
  7. Open up the extracted DotNetWikiBot files, you should see a file called DotNetWikiBot.dll (if extensions are not showing, find the file called DotNetWikiBot where the icon is two gears, looking something like this image, although depending on your version of Windows it may be slightly different)
  8. Right click DotNetWikiBot.dll, and select the copy option.
  9. Open the extracted WikiAlerter files, you should see a file called Alerter.exe
  10. Use Ctrl-V to paste the DotNetWikiBot.dll into the same directory as Alerter.exe
  11. Run Alerter.exe

From there you should be able to follow the steps at User:Kingpin13/WikiAlerter/Manual#Startup screen. Let me know if that doesn't work out or you need clarification on any steps. Best, - Kingpin13 (talk) 11:19, 19 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You have requested to delete a Wikipedia:sandbox I created for my own endeavors, that is not a reasonable request to delete a sandbox[edit]

Users have the right to create sandboxes, so that they can develop ideas before publishing them on articles, templates, etc. I created a sandbox that you have requested to be deleted. I have the right to create a sandbox.--R-41 (talk) 06:16, 20 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You had created a Mainspace sandbox.Sandbox is not a mainspace thing.Move the Page in your own userspace;that is;Move the page Start the user.. to User:R-41/Sandbox.. what ever like that.Do not write Start or something like that if you want to create a sandbox. If you want, create a subpage directly from your userpage.I hope this helps.Once you do that, notify me and I will remove the speedy.Do not remove speedy yourself.Night Of Darkness 06:21, 20 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I have already done so.--R-41 (talk) 06:39, 20 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

ACC[edit]

 Not done

Thank you for your interest in the account creation process. Unfortunately I am declining your request for ACC interface access. I have noticed, among others, of your multiple requests for various rights Collecting flags. If at some time in the future you are serious about helping in the account creating process and not just collecting trophies, please do re-apply and an ACC Admin can re-evaluate your access. File permission problem with File:I_am_Singh.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:I_am_Singh.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —James (TalkContribs) • 12:49am 14:49, 11 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:I_am_Singh.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:I_am_Singh.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —James (TalkContribs) • 12:50am 14:50, 11 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
