@DavidWestT: I don't understand how that could be the reason for rejecting the draft. References 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 12 cover the subject and events in his career at length. Davykamanzitalkcontribsalter ego 11:30, 23 January 2019 (UTC)
Referring to this diff to avoid confusion. Davykamanzitalkcontribsalter ego 11:34, 23 January 2019 (UTC)
@DavidWestT: Substantial changes have been made to the draft; the wedding registry's been removed, primary sources (besides social media citing the date of the subject's wedding) have been replaced and the content of the draft has been adjusted accordingly. Copyright issues

You appear to have a lot of copyright issues with respect to images. This concerns me. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 16:07, 7 March 2019 (UTC)

@Doc James: If you're referring to the Ryan Wyatt images, I'm fully aware of the process required to have them kept on Commons. Uploading those was part of my job in creating his article but the client didn't seem to follow through with providing sufficient permission in accordance with OTRS. Davykamanzitalkcontribsalter ego 04:38, 8 March 2019 (UTC)
No that was not the issue. Also further concerns have come to my attending. Going forwards you must go through WP:article for creation per best practice. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 07:36, 8 March 2019 (UTC)
By the way you are required to follow this aswell.[1] Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 13:31, 8 March 2019 (UTC)
@Doc James: I don't understand why exactly it is you're telling me this; as far as I'm aware I haven't gone against any guidelines recently. Davykamanzitalkcontribsalter ego 17:51, 8 March 2019 (UTC)
Were do you disclose your online advertisements for doing paid Wikipedia editing? Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 04:39, 9 March 2019 (UTC)
@Doc James: I wasn't aware of that requirement (I see the page was created in January 2018, which is well after I began doing paid editing) and no admins had previously notified me of it. I've included a link in my talk page header under "List of articles edited by Davykamanzi for paid compensation". Davykamanzitalkcontribsalter ego 12:10, 9 March 2019 (UTC)
Thanks for that. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 12:39, 9 March 2019 (UTC)
@Doc James: I don't understand why you're suddenly tagging all my previous jobs with {{COI}} when I provided disclosure of payment in their respective talk pages and here on my user talk page. Davykamanzitalkcontribsalter ego 12:19, 9 March 2019 (UTC)
Not all of them. Just some.Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 12:39, 9 March 2019 (UTC)
Other reviewers and admins have looked over them already after having been created via WP:AfC (as you suggested earlier in this thread, which is something I've been doing already) and have had no issues with them whatsoever. Besides the lack of a link to the external advertisements, I don't get what other concerns you could possibly have regarding my paid editing. Davykamanzitalkcontribsalter ego 12:21, 9 March 2019 (UTC)

I will provide a few more details.

  • This article was approved[2]. This is the approvers army of sockpuppets.[3]. Ie the person who approved it was a paid editor themselves.
  • These edits[4] did not go through an edit request.
  • This edit[5] did not go through an edit request either.
  • Here you linked maybe his sisters linkedin profile?[6] That is not a suitable source.
  • Here you as a paid editor removed the concerns regarding this being paid editing.[7] The creator of that article was an undisclosed paid editor.[8]
  • Here you as a paid editor removed an undisclosed paid tag.[9] You did not use a request edit for your edits.
  • This did not go through AfC WaterWays/Sons of Alpha Centauri/Hotel Wrecking City Traders Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 12:39, 9 March 2019 (UTC)
@Doc James: First, I did not realise that the Justin Anderson article wasn't listed on my talk page. That was an honest mistake that's now been rectified. Second, the Alan Aisenberg LinkedIn edit wasn't done by me. Third, Jytdog, one of your fellow admins, raised these same concerns with me back in January 2018 and, if you haven't noticed, all those cases you've cited are dated on or before that month and since then I've faithfully followed guidelines, except for some minor edits which I could justify per WP:JUSTDOIT. I truly believe action you've taken on the articles I've worked on since January 2018 is unfair because I created all those articles through AfC per the guidelines and had them looked over by reviewers/admins who then published those articles on their own conviction. I don't understand how you can then argue that they lack a neutral point of view or were created for undisclosed payments as you've suggested with Rumble (website) for example. Davykamanzitalkcontribsalter ego 18:04, 9 March 2019 (UTC)
With respect to the Rumble page it was created by this undisclosed paid editor User:Dazejay. You as a paid editor are not to remove these maintenance tags. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 02:53, 10 March 2019 (UTC)
Just to correct myself, I've noticed Jytdog was a reviewer rather an admin who's since been blocked for whatever reason. That doesn't change my point though. Davykamanzitalkcontribsalter ego 18:11, 9 March 2019 (UTC)
In fact, another editor had previously placed the COI tag on the Alan Aisenberg article for virtually the same reason you've done it on that and the other articles I've worked on since January 2018 and the template was removed after I queried the placing editor (who didn't provide a response) and then placed an edit request, again, in line with paid editing guidelines (see Talk:Alan Aisenberg#Edit request). Davykamanzitalkcontribsalter ego 18:27, 9 March 2019 (UTC)
Okay have removed this one. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 03:04, 10 March 2019 (UTC)
Also, the reviewer Winged Blades of Godric (through his second account Godric on Leave) moved Dave Dahl (entrepreneur) back to the draft space back in October 2017 after raising some these concerns as well and the article was republished by another reviewer, Chetsford. Some puffery was then added afterwards by a person I assume is associated to the subject in some way and I later reverted those edits to its earlier republished version, save for some minor changes done by other editors in the interim. Davykamanzitalkcontribsalter ego 18:41, 9 March 2019 (UTC)
Some of the concerns of paid editing on these articles do not pertain to you. I have asked User:DGG to weight in on Dave Dahl as they declined the proposal. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 02:48, 10 March 2019 (UTC)
@Doc James: Since I seem to have established that I've been following the proper protocol since Jytdog approached me in January 2018, could you kindly remove the tags you added to all the articles I've worked on since then except Brilliant Earth and Blucora? (Those two articles already had issues with COI before I edited them.) You still haven't explained to me the reasoning behind tagging Curve (payment card), Rumble (website), Patrick James McGinnis and Ryan Wyatt when they were all submitted to, reviewed on and published from AfC. Davykamanzitalkcontribsalter ego 14:45, 10 March 2019 (UTC)
Disregard my inclusion of Rumble to that list. I just noticed your comments with respect to that article. Davykamanzitalkcontribsalter ego 15:34, 10 March 2019 (UTC)
Same for the Curve article. Davykamanzitalkcontribsalter ego 15:38, 10 March 2019 (UTC)

As you stated Brilliant Earth and Blucora already had COI issues before you edited them so they need review by someone not with a COI. Per Curve (payment card) (a paid editor move live), Rumble (website) (written by undisclosed paid editors other than you), Patrick James McGinnis (a likely paid editor moved live) and Ryan Wyatt (okay). Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 03:19, 11 March 2019 (UTC)

Deadlinks

One of the jobs you took involved "deadlinks" / "citation needed" for SEO purposes. Can you link to edits were you "fixed" these "deadlinks"?

As part of the WP:TOU regarding paid editing you need to state who you worked for for each job. Were do you state that currently? And for the "dealinks" job who did you work for? Best Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 03:04, 10 March 2019 (UTC)

@Doc James: The job was on the Mitigating factor article (which is listed in the header of my talk page) where a reference to a court case contained a dead link and I changed the ref to cite another source with a transcript (or whatever they're called) of the same court case. As I mention in the article's talk page, the name of the person that hired me for that job is Patrick Carver and the names of my clients for each job are given in those articles' respective talk pages per WP:TOU. Davykamanzitalkcontribsalter ego 14:53, 10 March 2019 (UTC)
So kind of spammy in other words. Waybackmachine is what should be used. But you did this for a number of articles not just one... Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 06:18, 11 March 2019 (UTC)
@Doc James: I believe simple:List of counties of Missouri is the only other article where I made such an edit. The edit was then reverted almost a year later. Davykamanzitalkcontribsalter ego 13:41, 11 March 2019 (UTC)
Thanks for being transparent. This sort of editing is not allowed whether it is disclosed or not. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 13:50, 11 March 2019 (UTC)
@Doc James: As I already mentioned, I'm aware of that and I've been diligent in following the guidelines for over a year now. Davykamanzitalkcontribsalter ego 16:41, 11 March 2019 (UTC)

Happy First Edit Day!

June 2019

You may be blocked from editing without further warning if you make any further edits without responding to the inquiry you received regarding undisclosed paid editing. Orville1974talk 15:28, 27 June 2019 (UTC)
I reverted your recent edits at International Anti-Corruption Academy and today's edits by another editor done at your request on the Talk:International Anti-Corruption Academy. The COI request for edits on the talk page did not disclose your paid status, nor is it mentioned on the talk page banner. Orville1974talk 15:38, 27 June 2019 (UTC)
@Orville1974: Ah, that's my bad. I had just made minor, uncontroversial edits per WP:COIU so the disclosure had skipped my mind. I've now corrected the error so if you could reinstate the edits, that would be appreciated. Davykamanzitalkcontribsalter ego 20:19, 27 June 2019 (UTC)

Hello WOSO editors! What a 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup in France! There has been a lot of activity on tournament- and player-related Wikipedia articles with all of the worldwide coverage of the tournament and its players. Let's keep the momentum going.

WOMEN IN SPORTS EDIT-A-THON FOR JULY + AUGUST!

WikiProject Women in Red is focusing on Women in Sports during their edit-a-thon for July & August 2019.

Get all the info here: Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in Red/Meetup/126

Sign up and help fill in the gaps within various articles related to women's football / soccer - whether they be players, teams, leagues, historical, administrators, referees, etc. Every little bit helps. Be sure to tag your article talk pages with {{WIR-126}}.

These edit-a-thons are a great way to work with others to help bridge the gender gaps on Wikipedia. Thanks for your contributions!

Did you know...

WP:GNG takes precedence over WP:NFOOTY (which only includes the players in two currently active women's leagues)? Often times there is enough media coverage that meets WP:GNG or other notability guidelines. For more information, see WP:WOSO#Notability and be sure to tag the new article talk page with: {{WP Women's sport|footy=yes}}

Template:Fbml

I'm trying to understand how to convert 2012 CECAFA Cup Final from using {{Football match line-ups}} which you tag as deprecated to {{Fbml}} but that template has no documentation so I'm not sure how that works. Am I just supposed to replace manually the parameter names?--Gonnym (talk) 17:16, 23 August 2019 (UTC)

@Gonnym: {{fbml}} is supposed to be substituted, which means you place {{subst:fbml}} in the code then save the page to produce line-up tables, which you can then edit. Davykamanzitalkcontribsalter ego 18:25, 23 August 2019 (UTC)

Institute of National Museums of Rwanda

Hello,

I'm looking for the National Register of Historic Places of Rwanda. With this list, the country will be able to participate to Wiki Loves Monuments. Could you tell me if the following page on the Institute of National Museums of Rwanda (https://www.museum.gov.rw/index.php?id=81) is the list that I'm looking for?

Pyb (talk) 11:09, 26 September 2019 (UTC)

@Pyb: Hey. I didn't read through the entire article but the first two paragraphs basically say representatives/employees of the INMR went round Rwanda researching and making note of historical places, so I'd wager that's the list you're looking for. The places in parentheses on the list are districts of Rwanda. Davykamanzitalkcontribsalter ego 18:32, 26 September 2019 (UTC)

AfroCine: Join the Months of African Cinema this October!

Greetings!

After a successful first iteration of the “Months of African Cinema” last year, we are happy to announce that it will be happening again this year, starting from October 1! In the 2018 edition of the contest, about 600 Wikipedia articles were created in at least 8 languages. There were also contributions to Wikidata and Wikimedia commons, which brought the total number of wikimedia pages created during the contest to over 1,000.

The AfroCine Project welcomes you to October, the first out of the two months which have been dedicated to creating and improving content that centre around the cinema of Africa, the Caribbean, and the diaspora. Join us in this global edit-a-thon, by helping to create or expand articles which are connected to this scope. Also remember to list your name under the participants section.

On English Wikipedia, we would be recognizing participants in the following manner:

  • Overall winner (1st, 2nd, 3rd places)
  • Diversity winner
  • Gender-gap fillers

For further information about the contest, the recognition categories and how to participate, please visit the contest page here. For further inquiries, please leave comments on the contest talkpage or on the main project talkpage. See you around :).--Jamie Tubers (talk) 00:50, 30 September 2019 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Category:FKF Division One templates requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

Google Code-In 2019 is coming - please mentor some documentation tasks!

Hello,

Google Code-In, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks. This contest is about taking high school students into the world of opensource. I'm sending you this message because you recently edited a documentation page at the English Wikipedia.

I would like to ask you to take part in Google Code-In as a mentor. That would mean to prepare at least one task (it can be documentation related, or something else - the other categories are Code, Design, Quality Assurance and Outreach) for the participants, and help the student to complete it. Please sign up at the contest page and send us your Google account address to google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org, so we can invite you in!

From my own experience, Google Code-In can be fun, you can make several new friends, attract new people to your wiki and make them part of your community.

If you have any questions, please let us know at google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org.

Thank you!

@DGG: I'm not sure I fully understand the rationale here. All the references in the draft except references 1 and 6 provide detailed aspects of the subject rather than just passing mentions. Davykamanzitalkcontribsalter ego 10:41, 2 December 2019 (UTC)
The b&t item is a very slightly disguised press release, consisting largely of a quote from the company; . the Australian ditto,. SMH is not about the company. Marketing is an undisgusied promotional interview. That leaves AFD, which I cannot access. I know it' might appear strange to say theat the Australian published what amounts to promotional interviews, but essentially all newspers do.The best course would be to wait until there's at least one true news story and resubmit. The next reviewer may take a ddifferent view. DGG ( talk ) 06:26, 3 December 2019 (UTC) DGG ( talk ) 06:26, 3 December 2019 (UTC)
