St Pancras, circa 1960[edit]

BR Standard Class 5 No 73142 ready to depart with the 10.50 Express from London St Pancras to Leicester in 1957.

I thought this was a rather evocative period photograph; St Pancras, now the terminus of the Eurostar, in the 1950s. I like the shafts of light from Barlow's trainshed roof, as well as the boxes and other clutter on the platform. Used in St Pancras railway station and BR Standard Class 5 articles. Cool pic. I just promoted another UK-related picture to the portal, so we should hold on to this for a little to spread out the geographic representation in this section. Slambo (Speak) 11:35, 23 May 2011 (UTC)
Yes that's fine, I just tend to put them up here if I come across something that catches my eye. But yeah, best not to have too many British engines in quick succession. Bob talk 21:08, 23 May 2011 (UTC)
