Biased and inconsistent/confusing coloring[edit]
The (current) colors of this map are terrible. Not only do they not match the legend/key for the map, but they are extremely biased since red-yellow-green are fairly universally understood to range from bad to good. This map should be recolored to neutral colors (and the key should match).
New Mexico[edit]
New Mexico should be pink because the dealth penalty has just been abolished recently in April 2009.
New Jersey[edit]
New Jersey also just recently abolished the death penalty back in May 2007.
