Summary

Description
English: Four species of woodlice illustrating the diversity of this isopod suborder. TOP LEFT: fully conglobated Schizidium tiberianum, a fully terrestrial species. TOP RIGHT: Ligia oceanica, a supra-littoral species. BOTTOM LEFT: Platyarthrus hoffmannseggii, a commensal symbiont of ants (dug out of an ants' nest). BOTTOM RIGHT: Hemilepistus reaumuri, a desert-dwelling species which digs burrows and forms social family groups.
