RITA HAYWORTH BRIDE OF ORSON WELLES.
SANTA MONICA, CALIF.—In a surprise ceremony, ORSON WELLES, boy wonder of stage, screen and radio, took as his bride glamorous RITA HAYWORTH, scintillating star of Columbia Pictures Corp. here today. The happy couple is shown here after the ceremony with best man JOE [sic] COTTEN.

Due to the absence of a ring on Hayworth left hand, the photo is more likely to have been taken prior to the ceremony, possibly at the license bureau where there were throngs of reporters.
  • Photo is published without copyright notice in the New Castle [Pennsylvania] News, Thursday, September 9, 1943, page 6.
