S.M. el Rey Don Alfonso XIII durante uno de los partidos de polo jugados recientemente en el Real Club de la Puerta de Hierro, y en los que se disputaron el campeonato el "team" inglés formado por los señores Melvill, barón de Schroeder, Phillip y capitán Gill, contra el "team" español, constituido por Su Majestad, el marqués de Villabrágima, el duque de Peñaranda y el conde de la Maza. S.M. la Reina Victoria conversando, después de un partido, con el teniente coronel del Ejército inglés Mr. Melvill. La Reina Victoria, con las infantitas doña Beatriz y doña María Cristina, dirigiéndose a presenciar el partido. Un momento interesante del partido del polo jugado en el Real Clun de la Puerta de Hierro, para disputarse el campeonato de España, y en cuyas incidencias las aristócraticos jugadores patentizaron su destreza y dominio de este deporte. |
