English: Dried herbs, fruits, bark of trees, roots and even shells of animals such as snails and tortoises are used for preparing herbal medicines for healing based on the disease being cured in Accra, Ghana. To prevent contamination and poisoning by metallic elements and maintain the potency and efficacy of the herbal preparations, infusions, teas and decoctions; such medicines are prepared in calabashes made of gourd fruit and earthenware pots.
