ALONG the sliore of Lake Ontario from the villageof Ontario Beach, a suburh of Rochester, thereextends one of the most peculiarly scenic electricrailway routes in the world. The road is 8 miles long,running to Manitou Beach through a land replete with thelegends of the Iroquois and glistening in the beautybestowed by the bountiful hand of Mother Nature. For several miles out of Ontario Beach the road runsalong a bluff close to and overlooking the placid expanseof Ontario and about 15 feet above the level of the water.From Rigneys westward to Manitou the track threads asandy beach between the great lake and various littlebays and ponds which seem small children of the greatparent, and here is room and here are facilities for thethousands to spend a day in sport and pleasure, and alleasily accessible on account of the electric line.

TERMINUS GRAND VIEW BEACH RAILWAY. For a long distance the beach is lined by prett) summercottages and cool, wide-porticoed summer hotels. AtManitou are the finest pic-nic grounds in western NewYork and near it the pretty little village of North Panna. As to the road itself, it is of modern construction andequipment. The track is 45-pound steel T rail. Therolhng stock consists of 7 motor cars, five open and twoclosed, and 7 open trail-cars, which will seat comfortably60 to 70 persons. The Rae motors of 40-horse-powerare used and the old reliable McGuire truck. THE POWER PLANT is located two miles from the eastern terminus of the road.It is equipped with two Thompson-Houston 8,ooo-\vattgenerators, two engines of Mclntosh-Seymour make andthree loo-horse-power boilers from the Pierce & Thomasshops. This magnificent equipment, says the management,is of more than sufficient power to operate the road in ahighly satisfactory manner. The car-barn, located nearthe power house has storage c
