Summary

Description
English: Self descriptive as it contains a caption. The Sinzig enclosure was one of several camps along the Rhine in Germany (Rheinwiesenlager) where German prisoners, many of which were not given Geneva Convention protection (Disarmed Enemy Forces), were kept during the summer and autumn of 1945 under very poor conditions, with many thousands dying as a consequence thereof. The US Army prohibited the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) from providing aid and visit/investigate US prisoner camps in Germany until 1946.[1]
