Imagem de São Luís Rei de França, da extinta Venerável Ordem Terceira de São Francisco de Mafra. Hoje propriedade da Real e Venerável Irmandade do Santíssimo Sacramento de Mafra. Foi mandada fazer pelo Rei Dom João V ao escultor Manuel Dias. A sua camisa é precisamente a camisa de sagração do Rei Luís XV de França que a ofereceu ao Rei Dom João V de Portugal e por sua vez para esta imagem. Durante a menoridade de Luís XV de França, o irmão mais novo do Rei D. João V de Portugal, o Infante D. Manuel, de passagem por França, assistiu à Sagração do jovem Rei, em Reims (25 de Outubro de 1722). Presume-se que tenha sido o próprio D. Manuel que trouxe a camisa da Sagração de Luís XV ao seu irmão D. João V. Ostenta a insígnia da Ordem de São Miguel (francesa). |
