Summary

Description Rickmansworth - electric traction takes over. Metropolitan Railway electric locomotive no. 3 Sir Ralph Verney, built by Metropolitan Vickers in 1922, as running in 1960. Rickmansworth was the changover point. The train has been hauled from Aylesbury by a steam locomotive, an LMS 2-6-4 class 4 tank. The stock is known as Dreadnaught and dates from about 1906. The carriages are chocolate brown and the locomotive crimson with gold lining. Two survive, no. 12, Sarah Siddons is in working order and was altered so that it can run on SR third-rail routes.
