Description
English: Old Ordnance Survey map showing Monument Lane railway station (now closed and dismantled) on the Stour Valley Line in Birmingham, England. It was the nearest station to Birmingham New Street. Running approximately parallel to the railway is the BCN Main Line canal. The road crossing both rail and canal was Icknield Street / Monument Lane (Monument Road). These have been widened and are today the A4540 Ladywood Middeway. (This is a composite of two 1:500 maps: left half surveyed 1886, published 1888; right half surveyed 1887, published 1889)
