Italiano: Lo straordinario presepe, dipinto ad olio su carta applicata a sagome di legno, opera di Francesco Londonio (1723-1783) e risalente al 1750 circa. Si trova nella Cappella del Presepe nella chiesa di San Marco a Milano. Questa tipologia di Presepe fu comune in passato, ma per la "povertà" e fragilità dei materiali oggi ne sono rimasti pochi esemplari. Quello di San Marco è di particolare interesse anche per lo splendido stato in cui si trova dopo il recente restauro. Foto di Giovanni Dall'Orto, 14-4-2007.
English: The distinguished Nativity scene, painted on paper sheets glued on wood paneles, was made by Francesco Londonio (1723-1783) around 1750. It is on display in the Cappella del Presepe in san Marco church at Milan. This kind of Nativity scene was rather common in the past, but only few such specimens survived to us. This one is remarkably well preserved, and it was carefully restored a few years ago. |
