Español: Medalla conmemorativa inglesa de la «toma» de Cartagena de Indias por parte del almirante Eduardo Vernon durante la Guerra del Asiento o de la Oreja de Jenkins. En ella aparece el almirante Blas de Lezo (Don Blass), representado con ambas piernas, arrodillado frente al almirante Vernon y entregando su espada al inglés. Tras la abrumadora derrota sufrida por Vernon en el sitio de Cartagena de 1741, las medallas fueron retiradas, aunque se conservaron algunas. La leyenda dice "The pride of Spain humbled by Ad. Vernon", es decir, «El orgullo de España humillado por el Almirante Vernon». Museo Naval de Madrid.
English: English medal commemorating the "taking" of Cartagena de Indias by admiral Edward Vernon during the War of Jenkins' Ear. The medal depicts the Spanish admiral Blas de Lezo (Don Blass) with his two legs, on his knees giving his sword to admiral Vernon. After the crushing defeat suffered by the English fleet in the battle of Cartagena, the medals were retired, but some were saved. The medal says "The pride of Spain humbled by Ad. Vernon".
