English: Main Street railway station (site), Glasgow Opened in 1870 by the City of Glasgow Union Railway on the line from Springburn to Shields Road, this station closed in 1900 and was quickly demolished.
View north east towards Gallowgate and St. Enochs. The station platforms were to the right of the blue railway bridge, which was built in 1900 following closure of the station. The 1870 bridge has been removed. Main Street station was replaced by Eglinton Street (later Cumberland Street) station, around 400 metres behind the camera position- see NS5863 : Cumberland Street railway station (site), Glasgow.
