Examples of writing in the Kazakh language from 1902. The same passage is written twice; the top in Arabic, and the bottom in Cyrillic. Note the differences between some Cyrillic letters here and the current Cyrillic Kazakh alphabet.

Бурун̨ҕу ӧткӧн заманда бі̥р даныспан кі̥сі̥ Баҕдат сӓ̄рі̥ні̥н̨ бі̥р ӳlкӧн kазысынын̨ ӳјӳнӧ кеlі̥п kонурту. Kазы—мі̥нӓн сӧйlӧсӳп, kазыны сӧзгӧ цен̨ӓ-бері̥пті̥.
