The German title "Mozarts Begräbnis" means "Mozart's burial".

The poem printed beneath the engraving reads (in German)

Vom Sturm umbraust - auf schneebedecktem Feld
Den letzen Weg - von keinem Strahl erhellt -
Zieht er allein — kein Aug’ das ihn beweint,
Sein treuer Hund folgt nur - sein einz’ger Freund!

which may be approximately translated:

As the storm roars about, on the snow-covered field,
On the final path, brightened by no beam of light
He heads on alone; no eye weeps for him,
Only his loyal dog follows along, his only friend.

For the legends that inspired the creation of this work, see [1]. Wikipedia editors have not (yet) located any historical reference sources mentioning the loyal dog, though web-browsing turns up a few other mentions of this story.
