    "​横浜、港の見える丘公園に「フランス山」と呼ばれている区画がある。そこに、廃墟としては極めて良く整備・保存された「フランス領事館跡」が残っている。 / ... 「フランス山」は、かつて日本へ居留したフランス海兵隊の駐屯地であった。1863年06月から1875年03月の期間、フランス海兵隊はこの山に兵舎を建てて駐留する。その後、海兵隊当局がこの地区の借地権をフランス駐日外交代表部に譲渡し、1894年にフランス人建築家サルダの設計により領事館と領事官邸が建設された。この時に作られた領事館は、関東大震災で倒壊し、1930年にスイス人建築家ヒンデルの設計で再建されている。しかし、この建築物も1947年に火事で焼失してしまう。 / 現在残されている廃墟は、この1947年の火事の際に焼け残った1階部分である。 "
