English: A watercolour drawing of the durian (Durio zibethinus). The term Durio stercorae was authored by a botanist in 1790 who must have disliked durian as he likened it to faeces. The drawing is one of 477 natural history drawings of plants and animals of Malacca and Singapore commissioned by William Farquhar.
