Deutsch: Zur Erinnerung an die Stadtgründer finden Sie heute noch im Wappen von Schmölln, das seinen Ursprung im alten Stadtsiegel hat, den Helm mit den Pfauenfedern, dem Wappenzeichen der Reußen. Im Zentrum des Schmöllner Wappens ist die Jungfrau Maria, Schutzheilige der ältesten Kirche der Stadt, dargestellt. Maria weist auf ein „wundertätiges“ Abbild in der ehemaligen Kirche „Unserer lieben Frauen“ auf dem Berge hin.
