Object history
Deutsch: Das Wappen wurde am 28. Juni 1972 vom rheinland-pfälzischen Innenministerium genehmigt. Die Wolfsangel geht auf ein Siegel aus dem Jahr 1276 zurück, welches dem Ort vermutlich von Philipp von Hohenfels im Zusammenhang mit der Verleihung des Jagdrechtes verliehen wurde. Das achtspeichige Rad stammt ursprünglich aus dem Wappen der Herren von Bolanden, deren Erben die Herren von Hohenfels waren.
English: The arms were granted on June 28, 1972. The wolf hook is derived from a seal from 1276, granted bei Philipp von Hohenfels, bequester from the Lords of Bolanden, who showed an eight-spoked wheel in their arms.
