Français : Nuit du 2 Décembre.
Devant un buste tutélaire de l'empereur Napoléon Ier, le président Louis-Napoléon Bonaparte (à droite) délivre ses instructions aux conjurés du Coup d'État lors de la nuit du 1er au 2 décembre 1851. De gauche à droite : son secrétaire Jean-François Mocquard tient la liste des personnes à arrêter, le général de Saint-Arnaud tient les ordres militaires destinés au maréchal Magnan, Charles de Morny (par ailleurs demi-frère du président) glisse dans sa poche le décret le nommant ministre de l'Intérieur tandis que Victor de Persigny se tient fidèlement en retrait.
