Description
English: An anonymous 16th century Portuguese illustration from the Códice Casanatense, depicting a "xarafo", or money changer from the Sultanate of Gujarat. Among his clients in the crowd at the left is a Portuguese man. The inscription reads: Xarafo whom we call money changer of the Kingdom of Cambay.
