English: Arms of Alliance of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. North Office Block within Portsmouth Dockyard; photo taken during the 2008 "Meet the Navy" event. Two oval shields of alliance, each circumscribed by the Garter. Dexter escutcheon: Royal arms of Queen Victoria. Sinister escutcheon, arms of Albert, Prince Consort, Duke of Saxe-Coburg Gotha: Quarterly of 4:
  • 1&4: Royal arms differenced by a label of three points argent the centre point charged with a cross gules; (clearer view see[1])
  • 2&3:Barry of ten or and sable, over all a Rautenkranz in bend vert (Saxe-Coburg Gotha). A Rautenkranz is a "wreath of rue" or "crancelin".
