For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.  Eisenbahnbau Eichenberg-Arenshausen
ADN-Ludwig 26.4.90 Bez. Erfurt-Neue Eisenbahnstrecke-Zügig voran geht der Neubau der 1945 stillgelegten Eisenbahnstrecke von Eichenberg (BRD) nach Arenshausen (DDR). Ab 27. Mai sollen hier D-Zug-Paare zwischen Ost und West verkehren. Um die nötige Laufruhe der Wagen auf der neuen Strecke zu garantieren, werden die Schienen auf großen Längen verschweißt. Holger Pollak (l.) und Andreas Jung von einer Spezialfirma aus Hannover bereiten eine Verschweißung vor. Die neue Eisenbahnstrecke soll Nordhein-Westfalen und Hessen mit dem mitteldeutschen Raum und darüber hinaus verbinden. Die Züge werden zwischen Cottbus und Frankfurt-Main. Nordhausen und Kassel sowie Leipzig und Düsseldorf verkehren. |
